THEN
GHASA was originally established as an association in 1992, when a group of guest house establishment owners got together to promote the Guest House Industry.
The association was subsequently privatised in 2000, known as Guest House Accommodation of SA (GHASA).
Over the two decades, GHASA became well known for offering many benefits, assistance and valued advice to members, as well as booking opportunities for travellers.
While giant global booking engines have been established, the needs of properties have remained the same and in 2019 GHASA changed ownership and became focused on a simple objective.
We want to help you run a better guest house.
NOW
And then in 2020 EVERYTHING changed!
Tourism and hospitality properties were left stranded with little to no help at national or regional level. Africa’s tourism needed promoting.
And there was no accreditation program across Africa.
GHASA has evolved – now standing for Guesthouse, Hotel AND Safari Accreditation
Our objective is still simply – Helping you promote and run a better property.
