The African Research House Guesthouse is targeted to all researchers and professionals who want time off and enjoy an ideal setting to write their research or use the House for business and leisure. Situated on a hill with breathtaking views overlooking the beautiful West Rand landscape, the African Research House is located in an upmarket suburb of Kloofendal in the west of Johannesburg.
The House is, however, open to accommodate any guest seeking accommodation for both short and long stays. The House is fully furnished and can accommodate a maximum of 14 people in the Main House and an Exclusive Garden Cottage.
The Main House is a double storey house and the ground level is for exclusive use of a maximum of 12 guests. All 4 bedrooms downstairs have Victorian baths and showers and state of the art deco. Three of the rooms have own French doors leading to a very spacious balcony and an entertainment area with facilities for barbeque (braai area) and swimming pool.
A fully furnished Exclusive Outside Executive Suite has an en-suite designer bathroom with both bath and shower, an open plan medium size gourmet kitchen and lounge. It has TV with DSTV, own fridge, washing machine and drier, and a dish washing machine.
A unique feature of the African Research House is the combination of an elegant Guesthouse and the its Research residency component. The House has been graded a Three (3) Star Guest House by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. The Guesthouse has consistently been rated 9.5 out of 10 over a long period by more than 100 visitors in the past year.
