Location
Situated in 2.5 acres of tropical gardens, Sunbird Lodge is the perfect place to relax and let your stress melt away. Laze by the swimming pool, sit under one of our Lapa’s with a drink from the bar or take in the gardens at night looking at the stars, you can do as much or as little as you want. We are a family run business with the emphasis firmly on good quality and friendly service.
We are less than 3km from both the Phalaborwa Gate for the Kruger National Park and the renowned Hans Merensky Golf Estate. The CBD of Phalaborwa is less than 1kms away.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided in either one of 5 twin/double rooms in the main house (all with private access from the garden), 2 twin rooms beside the swimming pool or 3 rooms situated in the garden. All rooms are of good size, en suite and have TV’s, air conditioning and ceiling fans, tea/coffee making facilities, fridges, private patios and are non- smoking. Free WIFI connection in rooms. Smoking is permitted on the patio areas.
Facilities
Facilities at the lodge include a unique African bar with DSTV, a good size swimming pool, lapa’s, a large braai area, secure car parking, a safe to store your valuables, laundry services and fax and internet facilities (Free WIFI connection available in throughout).
Dining
Breakfast is included in the room rate and is a selection of yoghurts, juices, cereals, fruit, tea and coffee plus cooked English breakfast to order. Served from 0600-0900 Mon- Fri and 0700-0900 at weekends and public holidays. Pack up breakfasts and lunches are available by prior request.
Dinners are also available Monday- Thursday and is a set menu which must be pre booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

We can help with bookings and advise for most of the various activities available in the area including game drives in the Kruger, river cruise, visits to animal rehabilitation centres and many many more
