The Solomon is a self-catering guest house in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa. It was built in C1910 and was, until recently, a family home. Tastefully converted and furnished with high quality fixtures and fittings. The Solomon now comprises:
One 3-bedroom self catering house (sleeps two to six guests)
Two self-catering studio flats (sleeps on or two guests in each)
THE HOUSE
Bedroom 1 is the Master Bedroom. It has a queen-size sleigh bed, wardrobes and bay window.
Bedroom 2 also has a queen-size sleigh bed and wardrobes.
Bedroom 3 has two single beds and wardrobes.
There is a 4th bedroom that is not yet furnished, but could be made available if needed.
The living room has two 3-seater leather sofas, coffee table and TV. The TV has DSTV compact channels. There is also an open fireplace (please provide your own wood).
The ante-room is an internal hallway with two armchairs and an electric fire.
The dining room has a large table and chairs for six, together with a Welsh dresser. There are place settings for six.
The kitchen is very large with plenty of cupboards and worktops. There is an electric stove and oven, tall fridge/freezer. Other work-top equipment includes a toaster, microwave, kettle, grill and egg boiler. The kitchen is fully equipped with post, pans and utensils.
Bathrooms: There are two shared bathrooms. One has a WC, basin and bath, the other has a WC, basin and shower.
The house is set in a large garden with mature trees and shrubs.
Secure parking is provided in the grounds (some parking places are shaded, but not all).
The house is fitted with an alarm system for when you are out and about.
STUDIO FLATS
There are two studio flats which combine living room, bedroom and kitchenette into a single room. The TV has DSTV compact channels.
Each studio flat is furnished in Oregon pine and a queen-size bed, dining table and chairs for two and a writing desk/dresser. There is an en-suite shower room with WC and basin.
Secure parking is provided in the grounds (some parking places are shaded, but not all).
